IAN O'REILLY, CPA, CMA
Founder & President
Ian's early career saw him take on Finance & Business Partnering roles within a number of industries including: Financial Services, Packaging, Manufacturing, and Technology. He then moved into Distribution followed by a tenure in the Global Freight Forwarding/Contract Logistics industry.
Ian's last two roles in industry provided his foray into supporting the Supply Chain function.
In 2014, Ian decided to follow his entrepreneurial aspirations and launched The STORY Group. He wanted to focus on the areas & roles that he knows best, Finance + Supply Chain. His industry experience in these functions has allowed him to build instant credibility in speaking with Presidents, CFO's, COO's, CHRO's, and other members of the Senior Leadership community.
Outside of work, Ian is a big sports fan with soccer, hockey, and golf topping his list. He hung up his cleats and skates a number of years ago but continues to get his sports fix watching his children compete in their endeavours.
Ian possesses his CPA, CMA designation. He earned his BA degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1994.
Andrea is Co-Founder and Partner of The STORY Group.
Andrea has held a variety of senior level communications & marketing roles in both the private and public sectors. She has been involved in everything from national advertising campaigns to grassroots community outreach. Andrea is a passionate change agent who is committed to bettering the communities she serves through transparent leadership, membership engagement, and authentic storytelling.
Andrea holds a B.A. in Contemporary Studies, with Distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has extensive Board and Governance experience, including as a Board Director for the Supply Chain Canada, Ontario Institute, as well as Chair of the Awards Committee.
GIBRAN ANTHONY, CPA, CGA
Gibran has spent the last 16 years of his career partnering with companies to recruit accounting and finance professionals, across various industry sectors. He has worked on roles at all levels ranging from the associate level to senior leadership roles.
Before entering the world of recruiting in 2004, Gibran obtained his CPA, CGA designation and worked as an accounting and finance professional for over 10 years. The organizations he worked with ranged from start ups to large national public companies in industries that included manufacturing, distribution, technology, and engineering.
Gibran views people as one of the most valuable assets in an organization. His experience has taught him that no two organizations are exactly the same, and that a custom-tailored approach for each organization’s hiring strategy is paramount to a successful long-term fit for an organization and its people.
Out of the office Gibran enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and friends. He has a passion for cross-fit workouts, cooking and personal finance.
TALENT ACQUISITION MANAGER
Alison Robey brings to the team many years of experience within the fields of Human Resource Management and Talent Acquisition.
Alison has held a number of progressive HR positions within the manufacturing, automotive and financial sectors. Her experience in talent acquisition has encompassed recruiting for plant start ups and expansion of operations into new geographic regions. Alison is specialized in recruitment for supply chain, trades, engineering, finance and production personnel. She has worked in both union and non-unionized environments.
Alison holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Western Ontario and participated in the HR Management Post Diploma Program at Seneca College.
BRETT BOURGON, CPA, CMA, RCC™
B INSPIRED LEADERSHIP COACHING
Brett is an experienced leader who has held many influential roles in Finance, Operations and Sales primarily in the Technology sector. Brett started his career in public accounting and moved onto various leadership roles at HP Canada and Cisco. Following a successful corporate career, Brett decided to pursue his passion of helping finance professionals, leading to the creation of B Inspired Leadership Coaching.
Brett is a family first individual that is proud of his wife Jodie, two children Alyssa and Daniel, and two dogs. Brett supports WorldVision, ALS, and the Canadian Cancer Society as his main charities of choice and is passionate about eliminating the stigma around talking about mental health issues.
