CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst

Base Compensation: ideally up to $72k

Reports to: Manager, FP&A

Location: GTA



SUMMARY:


Our brand name, leading North American Manufacturing client has engaged The STORY Group to recruit for a Financial Analyst role.


Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Financial Analyst will contribute to the success of the organization by supporting the decision-making process through month end reporting and forecasting. In addition, the incumbent will liaise between the Sales Finance, Operations Finance, Accounting, and Engineering teams in providing ad-hoc support as required on various initiatives.


KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific responsibilities of the role, while not limited to, include:


  • Prepare Financial analysis and forecasts for the use in the development of Financial business decisions

  • Develop and analyze reports to drive and improve key performance metrics

  • Create new and supplemental reporting methods to aid management in proactive problem solving

  • Analyze sales, margins, manufacturing, and other operating costs to determine the drivers of change

  • Participate in month end close process

  • Ongoing analysis/forecasting of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow

  • Prepare monthly presentations for leadership team

  • Present financial results to senior leaders on ongoing basis

  • Participate in the development and submissions of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the reporting systems

  • Provide ad hoc analysis that adds value to the business and allows for the making of strategically sound decisions

  • Participate with special projects as required


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Following are the minimum requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Professional accounting designation preferred

  • 2-4 years related experience Excel and PowerPoint

  • Advanced in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience in Hyperion Essbase an asset

  • Ability to understand mathematical relationships and financial ratios to business application

  • Excellent ability to analyze data and information
