CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Senior Financial Analyst

Senior Financial Analyst

Total Compensation: ideally up to $95k (potentially higher)

Reports to: Finance Manager

Client: Confidential

Location: Mississauga


SUMMARY:

Our brand name, leading North American Manufacturing client has engaged The STORY Group to recruit for a Senior Financial Analyst role.


This role will be responsible for providing high level analytics, planning, and collaborative support to the Sales and Operations functions.


KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific responsibilities of the role, while not limited to, include:


  • Plan, forecast and analyze with cross functional partnerships to drive accountability and deliver on targets

  • Prepare financial analysis and forecasts for the use in the development of financial business decisions

  • Develop and analyze reports to drive and improve key performance metrics

  • Create new and supplemental reporting methods to aid management in proactive problem solving

  • Analyze sales and margin performance to determine the drivers of change

  • Run and compile files for the Customer Capacity Allocation Tool (CCAT) as well as lead the meeting

  • Work with Operations & Sales teams to forecast weekly production capacity and demand at each facility

  • Partner with Customer Service to determine the cause of company arrears and present them during the arrears review meetings

  • Present Financial results to senior leaders on ongoing basis

  • Participate in budget preparations and analysis

  • Provide analysis that adds value to the business and allows for the making of strategically sound decisions

  • Manage the expansion of the Canadian Essbase cube within Sales as it migrates toFinance and Operations

  • Participate on special projects as required


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Following are the minimum requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree & CPA, CMA, CGA, CA or MBA

  • Minimum 5 years related experience

  • Requires intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel skills

  • Requires Microsoft PowerPoint skills

  • Experience in Hyperion Essbase

  • Experience in Excel Queries an asset

  • Ability to understand mathematical relationships and financial ratios to business application

  • Excellent ability to analyze data and information
