VP, Supply Chain

(official title: VP, Global Procurement & DLW -Distribution, Logistics, Warehousing)

Base Compensation: ideally $175-225k (potentially higher)

Bonus: % TBD

Reports to: COO

SUMMARY:


Our retained client, a manufacturing firm (owned by private equity), has engaged TheSTORY Group to recruit for a VP, Supply Chain role.


Reporting to the COO, the VP Supply Chain will be responsible for the development, execution and sustainability of the Supply Chain’s procurement and logistics functions, and the development of 3rd party logistic service providers.


The position will operate cross-functionally with all departments in various regions to ensure an efficient movement of high-quality products, to satisfy our customers across all regions in our global distribution network.


This high-energy job requires resilience, adaptability and flexibility; the individual must have the ability to think strategically while implementing new methods to achieve cost savings and evaluate value chains.


The individual will lead and oversee the teams for Procurement, Distribution, Warehousing,Logistics under the guidance and support of the COO and will work very closely with theS&OP team.


KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific responsibilities of the role, while not limited to, include:


  • Leading the improvement of logistics efficiency & the flow of inventory across the business to serve our customer

  • Drive procurement savings and reliability of supply by further driving forward procurement excellence programs

  • Optimize our global distribution network by leveraging or own warehousing capabilities with those of 3rd party service providers

  • Actively develop teams to improve efficiencies in procurement, manufacturing, order tracking and fulfillment, shipping and receiving and inventory management

  • Establish, monitor, and maintain distribution partner relationships and supply partner relationships, both domestic and overseas

  • Participate with senior management in establishing long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives related to supply chain management

  • Monitor accuracy and provide feedback on how to improve metrics to teams

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, specified contract metrics, and maintain high standards of operational activities, introducing efficiencies where app.

  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Following are the minimum requirements for the position:

  • 10+ years experience in senior level in a supply chain management role with significant exposure managing 3PL relationships

  • 7+ years experience leading complex operations and supply chain teams effectively

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline required, Master’s degree preferred

  • Supply Chain accreditation (CLTD, CPIM, CSCP, CSCMP) or other supply chain certifications an asset

  • Experience as a people leader who can develop and coach multiple teams to the best of their ability in a fast paced, ever-evolving environment

  • Strong experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, knowledge ofINFOR M3 an asset

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams within an org.

  • Excellent change mgmt. skills, can bring needed change to light & execute as required

  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements for import and export of goods

  • Ability to work in and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities and evolving targets

  • Experience with multiple manufacturing sites a strong asset

  • Proven track record of strong negotiation and leadership skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
